ODDALoop FAQ
Quick answers about ODDALoop — the free, offline-first routine app where loops advance by attendance, not by calendar. No streaks, no account required, and nothing resets when life gets in the way.
What is ODDALoop?
ODDALoop is a free routine app where you build loops — repeating cycles of ordered stages — and advance them every time you show up. Each stage holds what you need in the moment: notes, checklists, timers, counters. There's a longer answer on the about page.
What does ODDA stand for?
ODDA stands for Open · Do · Done · Advance — the whole interaction in four words. Open the loop, do the stage in front of you, mark it done, and the loop advances to the next one.
Is ODDALoop free?
Yes — ODDALoop is free, with no subscription and no paywall. Open oddaloop.com and start.
Does ODDALoop work offline?
Yes — ODDALoop is offline-first, so everything lives on your device and works with no connection at all. Install it to your home screen and it opens like a native app, signal or not. A connection is only ever used if you turn on the optional sync.
Does ODDALoop have streaks?
No — there are no streaks, on purpose. Streaks measure your attendance against a calendar and punish absence; ODDALoop tracks where you are in the cycle instead. Showing up moves the loop forward; not showing up simply pauses it. There's no number to lose and no guilt mechanic asking you to make up for lost days.
What happens if I miss a day — or a week?
Nothing resets; the loop just waits. When you come back, the next stage is exactly where you left it, whether that's tomorrow or three weeks from now. Your history of completions is still there too — absence isn't erased, it just doesn't count against you.
How is a loop different from a habit tracker?
A habit tracker asks "did you do the thing today?"; a loop asks "what's next in the cycle?". Habit trackers are built around the calendar — daily checkboxes, streaks, missed days. A loop is built around order: Push, then Pull, then Legs, then back to Push, whenever you happen to train. That makes loops a natural fit for a gym split, a room-by-room cleaning rotation, or anything you do repeatedly but not on a fixed schedule.
Do I need an account?
No — ODDALoop works fully without one, and your data stays on your device. An optional account adds backup and real-time sync across devices, and if you sign out later your local data stays put.
How do I install ODDALoop on my phone?
ODDALoop is an installable web app (PWA), so there's nothing to download from an app store. On iPhone, open oddaloop.com in Safari, tap the share button, and choose Add to Home Screen. On Android, open it in Chrome and pick Add to Home Screen (or Install app) from the browser menu. It then launches full-screen like a native app and works offline.
Can I back up or move my data?
Yes — the Account screen has a JSON export, and you can import that file on any other device (or after a fresh start). If you'd rather not carry files around, the optional account keeps your loops backed up and synced automatically.
Is ODDALoop related to the OODA loop?
No — despite the similar name, ODDALoop has nothing to do with the OODA loop, John Boyd's Observe–Orient–Decide–Act decision cycle. ODDA stands for Open · Do · Done · Advance, and ODDALoop is a routine app. The about page untangles the names properly.
Still curious?
The fastest answer is to try it — start from a blank loop or browse the templates, like the morning routine.
